SJPII Parent-Teacher Organization

"As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” ~1 Peter 4:10

Our PTO's Role

The St. John Paul II Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) plays an integral role in our Eagle community. Volunteers offer their time, talents, and abilities to assist in the spiritual and academic growth of our students. Being a part of the PTO affords parents the opportunity to be actively involved in their child’s Catholic education!

The PTO sponsors a variety of fundraisers throughout the school year. Volunteers work diligently to organize events that are not only fun and engaging for our Eagle community but also help to raise money for the school! PTO fundraisers aid the school in purchasing supplies and equipment not covered by tuition and fees.

We encourage all parents and guardians to come lend a helping hand and be a part of the PTO! If you are interested in volunteering with the PTO, please reach out to the PTO president via email.

PTO Sponsored Events - Festifall

Festifall flyer

Friday, October 21, beginning at 3:00 p.m., Festifall will take place here on the SJPII campus. This grand, PTO-sponsored event is back once again. There’s a bounce house, a petting zoo, and more fun than numbers can measure. Wristbands are available on-site during the event and cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. You may direct any questions to Savannah Crandell. A wristband gets one entry to the event, one drink ticket for adults, and one soft drink ticket for kids. Kids' wristbands also get access to the petting zoo, the bounce house, and games (except the cake walk).

Festifall's got $2 tacos - pork, beef, and chicken with fillings thanks to Mr. Lagos

Tickets for the cake walk are available for purchase along with tickets for food, including sausages and hot dogs grilled up by the Knight of Columbus and fresh, delicious tacos by Mr. Lagos. Additional drinks are offered for a suggested donation.

Volunteer for Festifall! Plenty of opportunities!

Donating Festifall candy or cakes gets a one hour credit toward SJPII's required volunteer hours this school year.

Do you have a business you would like to promote at the vendor fair portion of our grand Festifall event? Contact Ms. Crandell via email. A donation to the school serves as payment for your business' spot, and Ms. Crandell can help get the ball rolling.

Next Used Uniform Sale

Join us at our next Used Uniform Sale to round out the wardrobe items your student may still need as the seasons change at Tru-Legacy Activity Center, Tuesday November 8, 2022, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Our thanks to the SJPII PTO for making this happen and especially to our very own Ms. Wallace leading the charge.

Volunteering

SJPII volunteer hours should be submitted through Track It Forward®.

To begin:

  1. Log in to the Track It Forward website.
  2. Click on “Find Existing Site.” In the search box, type “St John Paul II Catholic School Southern Pines, NC” and then search.
  3. At the next screen, it will ask for an email or username. At this time, do not enter any information in those fields. Scroll down to 'Don't have an account yet? Click here to register.' The next screen is where you will input your email address and create a password.

There is also an app for Track It Forward®. For additional questions, contact the volunteer coordinator, Kerry Alfrey.

All available and approved volunteer opportunities will be in Track It Forward®, and families are required to sign up for Track It Forward® on their website.

Hours must be submitted within one month of service to receive credit. For example, you will not be able to submit hours in February for service completed in October. All individuals who volunteer in the school must complete the online Safe Environment Training. All volunteer hours in Track It Forward will be approved monthly by the volunteer coordinator. If for some reason your hours are not approved, please contact Kerry Alfrey for clarification.

Please remember, many school events and enrichment activities cannot be held without the support of volunteers. If you sign up for a service opportunity, please keep in mind that teachers, students, and other SJPII families are relying on you to be there! If you find that you are not able to fulfill an obligation for which you signed up, please try to find another volunteer to fill your spot.
